Re: An Argument against Thesis M
Of course, the society and environment you grow up in form you on a very profound level, and have great impact on how you perceive the surroundings, including art. And what you prefer to call "reality". When does the "objective reality" start? Is there any such thing?

Re: Please Don't see that boy or Let Me Sleep Next to you
Welcome to the forum. Eli is hiring/contracting adults to help him getting food (kill for him), and to make the appearance of a small family, which can live amidst their prey for a period, until the ground eventually will start burning under their feet. Håkan is a paedophile, exchanging food for sex...

Re: new infected
Yes, it is the same like in Let me in. That does not make Abby a boy either. There is an important difference between LTROI and LMI: Alfredson intended and decided to show Eli as a boy, while Matt Reeves decided to show Abby as a girl. Because of this, when Eli says "I'm not a girl" he could mean t...

Re: new infected
The movie is ambiguous and open for interpretation. In the movie nobody says that Eli is a boy. It is just something you know from the book. For me there are two Elis: Book-Eli (Lindqvist's Eli), an androgynous boy and Movie-Eli (Alfredson's Eli), played by Lina, a girl. I don't picture Lina when I...

Re: new infected
I think the book and the movie are different. In the movie there is no gender issue. In the book it does really matters and it is quiet difficult for Oscar to accept that Eli is a boy. It is even easier for him to accept that Eli is a vampire. In the movie I don't see any reaction from him. So it d...
