Here's a book that went somewhat under the radar.
"Fearie Tales: Stories of the Grimm and Gruesome" is an illustrated anthology edited by
Stephen Jones who's responsible for 2011's
"A Book of Horrors". Like that collection,
"Fearie Tales" also contains
a short story by Lindqvist called Come Unto Me. You can read a short interview with JAL here:
http://www.angelaslatter.com/john-ajvid ... e-unto-me/
"Fearie Tales" will come out in US in September 2014, but If you're like me and can't wait that long, the book is available in UK at all the usual outlets on Interwebs.

JAL favorite fairy tale: "Thinking about it it would be the boy or the girl without anything who finds love and fortune in an unexpected place."
Sounds familiar

I knew JAL was writing a story for yet another anthology - I think he mentioned it a year ago, or so. Then I forgot about it.
The book is on order now, though!

But from the beginning Eli was just Eli. Nothing. Anything. And he is still a mystery to me. John Ajvide Lindqvist

This looks great! JAL and Alan Lee together in one book...

FOR THE SECOND time in less than a month, Annika was walking up the aisle of the church with Robert. This time they didn’t continue as far as the altar but turned aside and slipped into a pew at the front of the chancel. The spot where they had exchanged their wedding vows was now occupied by a black coffin.
What a hook!
Mine is on order as well.
...the story derives a lot of its appeal from its sense of despair and a darkness in which the love of Eli and Oskar seems to shine with a strange and disturbing light.
